About the workshop:

I look at film as a language. It´s a unique combination of words, pictures, movements and sound. To learn how to use this language I propose a "step by step-method"

Day 1. Preparation. Learning about the equipment and the idea of research. Finding out about how to do and what to tell about.

Day 2. Working with the story, making the storyboard.

Day 3. Creating the characters. The "actors" in the story. We will work with colored paper and using scissors. The "cut-out" method.

Day 4. Animating the characters on backgrounds, in the animation boxes.

Day 5. More animation and sound making.

Day 6. Looking at the films. Discussing future projects.

Draft programme:

Day 1, Thursday, 8th of October
Arrival of participants in Belgrade. Local transport to Becej (90 minutes by minibus), accommodation, groups dinner

Day 2, Friday, 9th of October

Day 3, Saturday, 10th of October
Lessons by the program of Mr. Erling Ericsson. First steps in Storytelling and scenario. Practical work with the box and software.

Day 4, Sunday, 11th of October
Lessons by the programme of Mr. Erling Ericson. Brainstorming and finishing of the scenario. Storyboard. Practical work with the box and software.

Day 5, Monday, 12th of October
Lessons by the programme of the Erling Ericsson. Beginning of the film production. Basic elements of the sound in film. Practical work with the box and software.

Day 6, Tuesday, 13th of October
Lessons by the programme of the Erling Ericsson. Beginning of the film production. Basic elements of the sound in film. Practical work with the box and software.

Day 7, Wednesday, 14th of October
Post production. Evaluation of the films. Closing presentation of the works of participants. Farewell dinner.

Day 8, Thursday, 15th of October
Departure of the participants

Main criteria for the applicants: we are looking for young leaders, educators or future educators (University Students) willing to continue to work with children and young people in Media Literacy. We would like to participants are from some NGO or School. Also, we are looking for applicants could understand and speak English, because all Workshop will be in English language.

The judging for the awards took place during between June and August and we have arrived at six regional award winners for radio. You are in good company - with Rádio Justiça, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, All India Radio, TRAXXfm, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Maputaland Community Radio Station.

The UNICEF International Children's Day of Broadcasting Awards Ceremony takes place on 10 November 2009 in New York City. The Awards dinner will be held at The Modern. UNICEF invites you to share a table with the other regional prize winners and television regional prize winners at this event. We will honor your work and award the 2009 ICDB Awards for both television and radio.

During the day, we will also be hosting presentations on children's broadcasting and youth participation, as well as organizing opportunities to present your work to fellow broadcasters.

We will be in touch with you shortly to discuss your attendance in New York in November and be of assistance with travel and accommodation arrangements.

IYMS invites organizations, schools and other institutions working with media to nominate two young media enthusiasts 15-22 years old to participate in the 4th International Youth Media Summit, August 19th to 28th in Serbia. The young participants could be candidates as Student Filmmakers and Student Diplomats. Beside the official delegates for the Summit, there are two more ways in which you can participate: as a guest and as a presenter.

The outcomes of the Summit are Public Service Announcements (PSAs) filmed and edited by student filmmakers as well as researched and prepared by the student diplomats.

The program of the Summit is exclusively designed to provide Skill and Professional Development as well as familiarizing the young participants with codes and standards of Media. Also, provide media platform for young adults to express and present the seven significant issues relating to them globally!

After very successful preparation workshop (Global Mobil Reporters, International Winter Multimedia Workshop, Serbia, December 2008) under the coordination of International Youth MultiMedia Summit and Media Education Centre, with support of European Commission and European Association for Viewers Interests and Swedish Institute and participation of the delegates from 12 Countries we will have special Teams working on radio and TV reporting IN REAL TIME!

First time we would like to include radio in the Summit's activities. I hope that we will have seven radio teams... Also, we will have every day real time streaming on the internet of all main activities of the summit. We will have also Summits Internet TV Station (IYMS TV) with 24 hours of program... Who is interested to see what we like to produce during the Summit can see our program we will do during the two days of the International Puppet Theater Festival, 17th and 18th of May 2009. Innovation is that 4th Summit will be TRAVELING! We like to make as much as possible VISIBILITY of the Summit and to give opportunity to NEIGBORHOOD COUNTRIES to (Romania, Hungary, Croatia) to visit us and to participate in the Summits Activities. We will start with Opening Ceremony in Belgrade, 20th of August, 21st of August we will go to Vrsac, nice city at the North of Serbia and we will stay in Vrsac three days (21st, 22nd and 23dr). From Vrsac we will go to Becej and we will stay three days in Becej (24th, 25th and 26th of August). Closing Ceremony of the Summit will be in the nice city of Novi Sad (27th of August)! From Novi Sad to Belgrade Airport is around 75 KM (one hour by car).
